Needs fixing and updating.
On my 1280x1024 screen, the menu icons were too small, with no obvious way of increasing their size. This would be of no use to smaller children who need bigger things to click on until they become used to the mouse.
The whole thing was too busy and looked old. I downloaded this for my four year old son, but it's too advanced for him to be able to make sense of it. There's no info on the website about which age groups are targetted, so it's pot luck really.
When I clicked on one of the menu items, the program crashed to desktop on XP SP2.
The Softonic site says this is Blockworks Lite v3.10 and is listed as freeware. The website has v3.01 of Blockworks (not lite) for download and it's actually a 14 day trial. No lite version is mentioned.
Softonic shows that the program was updated in 2005, yet Winsite (where you download the program) lists it as having no updates since 2003.
Pros: Probably ok for some older kids?
Cons: Lack of customisation options for the gui.
Looks too small on newer/higher resolution screen.
Looks very outdated.
Unstable on my PC.
Version numbers are confusing and contradictory.
No lite version.
